Hello my lovelies!

It feels like it’s been a long time since I sat down and wrote a post what with being away for three weeks and trying to get back into the swing of things. I’ve really missed writing and I’ve got sooo much to write about/ fill you in on!

So, to start with I wanted to write about a fabulous event I had the privilege of being invited to yesterday; a ring design workshop at the GLITZBOX pop-up shop, hosted by the lovely ladies from The Workbench London. Some of you may remember GLITZBOX which is a company I have collaborated with in the past, I was lucky enough to sample one of their luxury jewellery subscription boxes which I reviewed both here and on my YouTube channel. I absolutely loved working with GLITZBOX and it’s lovely founder Tamsin, I loved the jewellery and was really impressed by the concept! So, when Tamsin invited me to this event at the GLITZBOX ‘pop-up shop’ in Shoreditch I was super excited to attend.

The brand itself is set up in a temporary shop in Old Street station, Tamsin is there every day this week until the 13th August (so get down there quick!!) with all their stunning jewellery on display, photobooths, fun and loads of instagrammable stuff. There are opportunities to buy or rent the jewellery so I highly recommend you get down there for a nosy if you can, but they are also hosting some fun events and I attended a ring making workshop which was hosted by Katie and Kirstie from The Workbench London. This brand and the lovely ladies who founded it was new to me but wow – I love the idea! Perfect for parties, events, hell anything with a group of girls involved, The Workbench London take groups and help you to design your very own ring! I wish I’d known about it when I was planning my hen! I won’t go into all the technical details (mainly because I had no clue what I was doing!) but essentially you carve a piece of jewellers wax into any ring shape you fancy, they go away and make it for you and two weeks later it turns up in the post! I’m in love with the idea of having my own ring which I designed from stratch and I literally cannot wait for it to arrive eek!

So, the event itself was fantastic and really well oragnised. I arrived at the pop-up in Old  Street which was beautifully decorated and complete with the obligatory blogger balloons and even branded meringues (not even kidding and yes they were delicious!). Tamsin was there to greet us and Katie and Kirstie had all the equipment for the workshop set up and ready to go.

It was lovely to meet and chat to some other bloggers and influencers while we were busy carving away our little pieces of blue wax over a glass of cava (!) and as it was a small group it was a really friendly atmosphere. The workshop itself took about two hours but it went so fast! I was pretty slow at carving but the girls from The Workbench were so patient and really good at talking me through it. They were also always there to help or answer any questions.

After the workshop we had an opportunity to browse the beautiful jewellery in the shop and chat some more before receiving the best goody bags I have ever had before (keep your eyes peeled on my youtube for an unboxing vid!). It was a fantastic afternoon and I really enjoyed myself, made extra soecial by the lovely and friendly ladies who run both GLITZBOX and The Workbench London. Thanks so much for having me and I can’t wait to see my ring!

You can read more about GLITZBOX here and try to get down to Old Street before the pop up closes on Sunday!

Another post today to let you know a little bit more about me. I was nominated for this award by the lovely Jess from Me, My blog and I ( check her out for some brilliant reviews and hilarious posts!)

So the rules of the award!

  • Thank and link the blogger who nominated you (that’s important guys!)
  • Answer the 7 questions they asked you
  • Nominate 7 bloggers for this award and let them know you nominated them!
  • And ask 7 questions for your nominees!

My Answers:

  • What motivates you to blog?

I think I just love writing – I don’t see it as a chore or a job I see it as a hobby. I like pouring elements of myself and my personality onto a page.

  • If you could have any super power what would it be?

To freeze time so I could stop when I get too tired in the middle of the week and have an extra day off!

  • Favourite topic to blog about?

Travel 100%. I live for travel and aim to see as much of the world as I possibly can in my life.

  • What is your favourite book/movie franchise?

My favourite book AND movie fanchise is and always will be Harry Potter. I grew up with it and it holds very happy memories for me. The stories are magical and I think all children should have access to the books and movies.

  • What is your favourite social media?

Instagram! I love photography and I’m a really visual person so I like looking at pictures from other people’s lives. I use it as a source of inspiration too.

  • Tea or coffee?

Coffee, black.

  • Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Honestly, I don’t see myself in the UK. Paul and I have a plan to move around and teach around the world once we are qualified. Hopefully somewhere beautiful 🙂

My 7 Questions:

  1. What is your favourite flavour of icecream?
  2. Who is your celebrity crush?

Have fun!

I first saw this tag on Kimberley Jessica’s blog and I loved it straight away and saved it to do later. Since then I’ve seen it a million times in the blogosphere! So I hope it’s not too much Autumness overkill, but maybe I have a slightly different perspective to most.

1. What signifies the start of Autumn for you?

Well, for starters it’s my birthday 8th September, but I’m usually lucky and seem to get the end of the summer weather. So I would say after my birthday it feels like autumn. Then the leaves start falling and the evenings start drawing in fast. And before you know it it’s dark when you’re leaving work at 5pm!

2. What is your favourite Fall scent?

Does apple pie straight out the oven count?? I love cinnamon and appley smells.

3. What is your favourite Autumn colour?

Burgundy red – I love it. I’m starting to get more into browns/ burnt orange type colours but I find them a bit too seasonal sometimes. Like you can only wear them in the autumn which is not really cost effective!!

4. What is your favourite Fall drink?

Gingerbread lattes but that’s kind of Christmas? Mulled wine??? Haha ask me this question again in December I’ve got loads of answers. I’ll go with hot chocolate.

5. What TV show, new or old, are you looking forward to this Fall?

It’s already started but the GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT! I’m addicted. I also love Strictly Come Dancing. The TV in Autumn/Winter is much better than summer actually.

6. What is your favourite Fall fashion trend?

Erm, well I’m much more of a summer/ festival fashion girl. But I guess I do like a woolly hat with a bobble on 🙂

7. What is your favourite frugal Autumn activity?

If it’s a crisp Autumn day I love to go walking up to the top of the Greenwich Observatory with Paul to get a load of that amazing view over London. If it’s raining I’m enjoying staying in and baking something yummy!

8. What is your favourite makeup look come autumnal weather?

I wear a bit more red lipstick in the Autumn so I’ll go for that. I have never really got on board with the berry lips trend I still prefer siren red!

So I hope y’all might have found that interesting and maybe got to know a little more about me. As you can tell I’m not the biggest fan of cold weather but I must admit I do like snuggling down to watch Strictly  on a Saturday!

If you want to do this tag I’ll paste the questions below, and please comment to let me know you’ve done it! I’d love to read other answers!

Love,
