Happy Monday lovelies!

I thought this week I’d kick off the blogging with a review from a fantastic product which I had the pleasure of reviewing over the weekend. On Friday last week I was invited to an event at Superdrug Surrey Quays to celebrate the launch of the imPRESS press-on manicure nails. Not only was this an exciting event with product testing, other bloggers, photos and cake (no event is complete without cake!) I was also super excited to meet the amazingly talented Rachel Leary, YouTube makeup extraordinaire who was there too!

The event was fab and I was lucky enough to take away a couple of samples of the imPRESS nails to try at home and since I was going to a party on Friday evening I thought it was a great opportunity to try out my favourite style which was the beige and silver.

About the product

The imPRESS press-on mani is a ‘press and go’ manicure which enables you to have fabulous looking nails in half the time (and a fraction of the price!) of getting them done professionally. The nails are easy to use with no glue; simply match up a false nail to the size of your own, peel off the plastic on the back of the nail and press down onto your natural nail. The imPRESS nails have a new super-hold technology which means that the adhesive is really strong allowing maximum wear time and less chance of nail related incidents at events! They are also super easy to remove at the end of the night with no painful removal and no damage to the natural nails underneath.

What I thought

My past experience of ‘stick-on’ nails has been limited. I have used a few brands which use nail glue before but have always been disappointed by having nails ping off in the middle of parties! As a previous acrylic addict, my natural nails are pretty ruined so while I am waiting for them to become stronger something which can give me low maintence and easy pretty nails for an evening would be perfect for me – needless to say I was excited to try the imPRESS manicure!

I am delighted to report that the imPRESS press-on manicure nails live up to all of their claims and my expectations! They were super easy to apply, even including a nail prep pad and cuticle stick within the pack to help prepare nails to ensure optimium application! Something else which I love about this product, that sets it apart from others on the market, is that it contains 30 nails in a pack including lots of different sizes so it was easy to find one to fit each finger. The application itself really was as easy as ‘press and go’ and they felt very sturdy all evening.

So did they last? Yes! They lasted all evening and I only lost one before I went to bed. I removed them the next morning which was easy and painless, considering how strongly stuck down they felt it was actually surpisingly easy to pull them off. I really like the fact that the imPRESS nails are shorter than others on the market which I think helps add to the durability and still look fab with less risk of losing one! I found that pressing them down regularly throughout the evening helped keep them strong.

I absolutely loved this design in particular and imPRESS make sooo many cute designs – plus the fact that every pack includes accent nails if you want to shake it up and add something different to your mani! I received loads of compliments on my nails and no one could believe they were out of a packet! For a quick and easy manicure that looks natural and lasts I would thoroughly recommend the imPRESS press-on manicure.

**Please note: I was given this product for reviewing purposes but the opinions, as always, are my own**

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts on press-on nails?

Hello my lovelies!

It feels like it’s been a long time since I sat down and wrote a post what with being away for three weeks and trying to get back into the swing of things. I’ve really missed writing and I’ve got sooo much to write about/ fill you in on!

So, to start with I wanted to write about a fabulous event I had the privilege of being invited to yesterday; a ring design workshop at the GLITZBOX pop-up shop, hosted by the lovely ladies from The Workbench London. Some of you may remember GLITZBOX which is a company I have collaborated with in the past, I was lucky enough to sample one of their luxury jewellery subscription boxes which I reviewed both here and on my YouTube channel. I absolutely loved working with GLITZBOX and it’s lovely founder Tamsin, I loved the jewellery and was really impressed by the concept! So, when Tamsin invited me to this event at the GLITZBOX ‘pop-up shop’ in Shoreditch I was super excited to attend.

The brand itself is set up in a temporary shop in Old Street station, Tamsin is there every day this week until the 13th August (so get down there quick!!) with all their stunning jewellery on display, photobooths, fun and loads of instagrammable stuff. There are opportunities to buy or rent the jewellery so I highly recommend you get down there for a nosy if you can, but they are also hosting some fun events and I attended a ring making workshop which was hosted by Katie and Kirstie from The Workbench London. This brand and the lovely ladies who founded it was new to me but wow – I love the idea! Perfect for parties, events, hell anything with a group of girls involved, The Workbench London take groups and help you to design your very own ring! I wish I’d known about it when I was planning my hen! I won’t go into all the technical details (mainly because I had no clue what I was doing!) but essentially you carve a piece of jewellers wax into any ring shape you fancy, they go away and make it for you and two weeks later it turns up in the post! I’m in love with the idea of having my own ring which I designed from stratch and I literally cannot wait for it to arrive eek!

So, the event itself was fantastic and really well oragnised. I arrived at the pop-up in Old  Street which was beautifully decorated and complete with the obligatory blogger balloons and even branded meringues (not even kidding and yes they were delicious!). Tamsin was there to greet us and Katie and Kirstie had all the equipment for the workshop set up and ready to go.

It was lovely to meet and chat to some other bloggers and influencers while we were busy carving away our little pieces of blue wax over a glass of cava (!) and as it was a small group it was a really friendly atmosphere. The workshop itself took about two hours but it went so fast! I was pretty slow at carving but the girls from The Workbench were so patient and really good at talking me through it. They were also always there to help or answer any questions.

After the workshop we had an opportunity to browse the beautiful jewellery in the shop and chat some more before receiving the best goody bags I have ever had before (keep your eyes peeled on my youtube for an unboxing vid!). It was a fantastic afternoon and I really enjoyed myself, made extra soecial by the lovely and friendly ladies who run both GLITZBOX and The Workbench London. Thanks so much for having me and I can’t wait to see my ring!

Summer is here! Hurrah!

The weather here in London is glorious at the moment an I’m absolutely loving it. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I’m much more of a ‘summer fashion’ gal than an autumn/winter person, and I like nothing better than a pretty, summery dress. A few weeks ago I was passing the window of my absolute favourite shop in the world Oliver Bonas (literally, I could style my entire life from this store, there is not a thing in there I don’t like!) and I saw the most perfect dress I had ever seen in my life! I had a couple of events coming up; birthday parties, garden parties and that sort of thing, and I was looking for something colourful with just the right balance between smart/casual while at the same time being pretty. This dress is perfect in every way for every occasion.

I really like the top part of it which is soft cotton and a casual, grey T-Shirt style which makes the dress really comfortable and keeps the top half relatively casual. It’s also been really cool as last week I wore it to an event in temperatures approaching 30 degrees and was perfectly comfortable. The understated design also means you can style the dress with some chunky statement jewellery. I didn’t on this occasion but when I wore the dress to a birthday party I wore a statement, brightly-coloured necklace to brighten up the top.

The skirt was what drew my attention to the dress in the first place and it’s my favourite part. Not only is it made up of all my favourite pastel coloured but it is also made from the most gorgeous, high quality floaty fabric which is so cool and comfortable and just falls in the most pretty and flattering way. I honestly feel fabulous in it! It’s also a great length for me; just below the knee which kind of gives it a more formal feel but still helps me feel a bit taller especially when I paired it with my cork wedges. The way it is pleated is also a beautiful design which is so flattering and makes me feel slimmer and taller.

The dress costs £75 which is more than I usually spend on one piece but so far this season I have already worn it on three occasions and I feel like it is perfect because it can be dressed up or down for any event! I would wear this outfit to a wedding, a meal or even a night out! It’s definitely got the perfect blend of style and pure comfort. Currently it’s my favourite item in my wardrobe.

What a beautiful start to Spring we’ve been having in London! Sure, it’s been a bit chilly but we’ve had some days of glorious bright sunshine and big blue skies. Just how I like them.

I took the opportunity to head out and get some photographs of a few of my new Spring wardrobe pieces from Missguided. I’ve been ordering some new items and going for a kind of muted pastel colour theme. I’ve always loved dusty pink but I’m really feeling the camel and cream tones at the moment. On Saturday I chose to wear these nude skinny jeans with this chiffon camel jacket and I’m so happy with how the look turned out. I’m lucky to have the stunning backdrop of the Royal Naval College, Greenwich just around the corner.

I love this outfit because it’s the perfect mix of casual with a slightly dressed up feel. I chose to pair it with some New Look brown ankle boots but it was also look nice with sandals, pumps or wedges when it gets a bit warmer. I adore the feeling of the camel jacket and the fact that it’s floaty chiffon makes it really flattering. The jeans are stretchy and super comfortable for high waisted. The colour is ‘nude’ which is lovely because it’s not stark white, more of a champagney tone.

What I’m Wearing:

Nude jeans // Missguided

Chiffon camel jacket // Missguided

Floral top // Primark

Boots // New Look (previous season)

Scarf // gift

Which styles are you loving for Spring?

It’s no secret that the universal take over of online shopping has completely revolutionised the high street retailer game. Most brands now have websites, user friendly apps, exclusive online deals and easy delivery options to make ordering their clothing as simple as humanly possible for their customers. And with our busy lives this is what we like! I’m not denying that the ease of buying new items within a few clicks is super convieneient (if a bit dangerous for my bank balance!).

But have you ever thought how handy it would be to be able to browse and compare brands, styles and prices in one place?  Enter Shopcinity, a new app for high street brands which is going to change your online shopping experience.

When I was asked to review this app, I’ll admit, I was sceptical about what yet another fashion app could bring to the table. Hasn’t everything been done already?? It hasn’t. Shopcinity has got features that I’ve never come across before anywhere else. Features I now realise are seriously needed! It’s like the brains behind the app literally got inside the head of an online shopaholic and invented everything they need without them realising that they need it!

I’d like to take you through the basic features of the app and some of my favourite things about it.

The BROWSE function does exactly what it says on the tin. You can select women’s or men’s, clothing or whatever accessories you are looking for and then narrow it down by more categories of item. This was you can see, for example, all the women’s jeans they have from all the brands which are featured on the app. You can easily scroll through the prices and pictures and either purchase then and then or add to your ‘watch list’ – more on that later.

Similar to browse, STORES let’s you look at everything they have got – by store! If you are interested in browsing what a particular brand has to offer this is a good place to do it. At the moment there are not a huge amount of brands on the app but I’m sure there will be more introduced as the app is launched to the public and becomes popular.  Also one of their main retailers seems to be House of Fraser which is great because they sell everything from a range of brands. All bases are covered even at this early stage.

Now, this is where it gets awesome. If you find something you like whilst browsing you can add it to your watch list in just one click. This is then saved for you kind of like the ‘basket’ on other apps. However, and now for the clever part, if you leave it there for a bit you will get notifications from Shopcinity about your item. For example:

I placed these two items on my watch list and within a day I had notifications saying that they had found similar products at a cheaper price elsewhere. And they were genuinely similar as well. Also you get notifications when your watched items are reduced in price or go into the sale! Amazing! Your own personal bargain hunter! It really is very clever.

But the TAG ME function is the cleverest of all! I wasn’t sure if it would be accurate but it really is! The idea: you’re out shopping and see something you like on a manaquin. You snap a picture of it using tag me and Shopcinity will give you a list of similar garments from different retailers! It also works if you see something you like online – just enter the URL.  I tried this out with one of my dresses to see if it worked and here is the proof that this app is a total fashionista!

All I put in was a picture of the dress, no description or information is needed, and the app recognised the colour, length and style to offer me very similar examples of other dresses. I really think this function is so handy. Imagine you saw a stunning dress in the window of a designer store which was way out of your price range: simply snap a pic, tag it and Shopcinity will come up with high street alternatives for you!

Overall, I rate this app very highly. I think it is very easy friendly, a nice design and works quickly and doesn’t over complicate things. Most importantly it is something which is genuinely useful that (to my knowledge) you can’t get anywhere else! To get a great online shopping experience all in one place – I think it’s brilliant.
