Weddings are such an exciting event! As a previous bride I absolutely adore other people's weddings. It’s one big celebration of love and devotion and if you’re an invited guest and get to be a part of that, well, you better get your hankies ready for the sobfest that awaits. Attending a wedding as a guest is a privilege and you get the chance to spoil the lucky couple with a gift of your choice. Most couples say that they don’t need a gift on their wedding day, as your presence is enough, but everyone knows that turning up to a celebration empty handed is a big no-no.

The thing is, this is the modern world! Roll the times back fifty years or so and a wedding was the bridge between living with parents and living with a new spouse. This meant that most gifts were housewares and pretty trinkets to display for the couple in their very first home. That is a rarity these days, with most couples living together long before engagement rings are given and wedding vows are exchanged, which means that a couple generally has it all before getting hitched. I know I'm our case we already had everything for our house, so we found compiling a gift list tricky!

So, the dilemma left to you as the wedding guest is what on earth you could buy for a couple that seems to already have it all? Here are five unique gifts that you won’t necessarily find on a registry, nor would anyone else have thought of it!

Travel Gift
Forget the honeymoon, if your wedding couple are ones who love to trek and travel across the world, why not go for one of these travel gifts? Add in a ‘where have you been’ scratch map and you have the perfect, personal gift for the couple who love to conquer the world together. I personally would adore this gift.

Land Gift
This is an totally unique idea! We’re not talking a patch on the local allotment for the newlyweds, but why not give them the amusing gift of a small piece of unclaimed land? They can therefore be claimed Lord and Lady of the land you give them, which should raise a smile or two!

Honeymoon Gift
Wedding gifts that are personalised are those that go down well with newlyweds, as they get a keepsake from their day. These personalised Mr & Mrs passport covers are an exceptional gift that they will love to use on their honeymoon together. Pair it with a polaroid camera for snaps of a vintage feel. Honeymoons are almost as exciting the wedding day itself so any gift for the honeymoon will go down very well.

Romantic Gift
I love this idea! Notebooks like this that encourage a newlywed couple to write a line about their life together each day for the first year of marriage is a wonderful keepsake, and a way to look back at how their first year of marriage went in the years to come.

With this gift ideas you will never run dry for inspiration for the wedding season – no last minute panic! Enjoy all the weddings!

Hands up if you love gin! Everyone?? Yep, I thought so. Gin is IN. It is the now drink. It’s become the high fashion, go-to choice which screams sophistication. Plus, it’s a lot less calorific and fattening than other tipples like wine or prosecco. Hello gin.

So, when Gin Explorer got in touch with me and asked me to review their November box of their monthly gin subscription service I was only too happy to oblige. I am by no means a gin expert, but I drink gin so I feel I am well placed to review a box of delicious gins from around the world.

So what is it?

Gin Explorer is a monthly subscription service which delivers 4 gin miniatures from around the world. The box is beautifully presented and each month includes 4 delicious, hand-picked bottles of gin for the lucky customer to sample. In addition; you get interesting information about your gins including where they come from and how they’re made. In my November box I also received some cucumber tonic and some nibbles.

I get it. A monthly subscription for alcohol does seem a bit luxurious and something that the rich and famous would indulge in! However, I’ve been doing my sums and if you enjoy a social drink at home with friends or partners then this could actually work out cheaper than purchasing your booze ad hoc. Also, it’s much more sociable and fun to try a variety of gins with your friends than to just settle down with a bottle of Gordons for the night. Just saying.

There are several ways to pay for this subscription. You can pay monthly; which costs £24.99 inc. delivery, or you can save money by paying upfront for 3 months (£69.99) or even a whole year (£279.99).

In my box I received 4 gins which were all seriously yummy; Herni Gin, Leeds Gin, a rhubarb and custard flavoured gin and Thompsons Grape Gin. My favourite was the Grape gin.

This would be an amazing Christmas gift for the gin lover in your life, or equally a little naughty treat for yourself. How exciting to have a surprise delivery of mini gins every month, come on??

My favourite new additions to my jewellery collection is this gorgeous rose gold edition Pandora bracelet. I have been lusting after these bracelets for years but it’s not the sort of thing I would ever get round to buying for myself! So I was delighted to get one for my 25th birthday. I chose rose gold because a) I love it and b) my wedding, engagement ring and watch are all rose gold and it looks lushhhhh all matching.

I decided to start off with a glass charm because they are my favourite and I had a bit of birthday money left over. In the end after much deliberation I chose the Nostalgic Roses bead. I think the pink looks stunning with the rose gold bracelet.

I can’t wait to fill up the rest of the bracelet with charms! I have my eye on a few of the rose gold diamante ones. On the Pandora website you can make a wishlist with all your favourites so that family and friends can see which ones you like – what a grand idea! What I love about charm bracelets is that you can collect charms which represent milestones or special events, and you will always remember the people who gave them to you for whatever reason. They are an extra special piece of jewellery which is totally unique to you.

Do you have a charm bracelet? Which is your favourite?
