With wedding season nearly upon us no doubt many of us will be racking our brains for present ideas. True, most people make a gift registry these days so things are a bit more simple. But if they don’t (or you just don’t fancy buying another cutlery set for the sixth time) then you may need to come up with your own idea!

I love gift giving for any occasion and I think it’s so important, especially for a wedding, to choose something meaningful that the receiver will actually like. If you don’t know the couple super well, this can be tricky,. However, as a newlywed myself I have the inside knowledge on a gift a newly married couple will love and might actually need.

All of these gifts were sourced from my favourite gift-giving website: notonthehighstreet.com

Personalised Wedding Keepsake Box // £39.95

Most couples will have already purchased a beautiful personalised wedding album, but the keepsake box is often overlooked. After my wedding I found I had lots of ‘bits’ that I wanted to keep – an invitation, dried rose from my bouquet, spare favour, card from Paul from the morning-of and so on. A cute little box is the perfect box they never knew they needed.

Personalised Special Occasion Photo Frame // £25

If you know the happy couple have a lot of space on their wall to fill I think this ‘Insta-shaped’ photo frame is a really cute idea. Most newlyweds will choose their favourite professional photographs and have them displayed proudly – probably blown up on canvas. If I was buying this gift I would find all the best and most hilarious ‘candid shots’ on Instagram and fill the frame with these. That way every time they look at it they will be taken back to how happy they felt on the day with their loved ones.

Heart Personalised Candle // £29

Because who doesn’t love a scented candle right?! I spend a fortune on them, so I’m always delighted when I get one as a gift. And with the couples initials on it this candle makes for a really cute wedding gift that they will 100% get great use out of. More than a silver cheese knife let me tell you.

Personalised Wooden Luggage Tags // £34

This gift is super useful and it’s highly unlikely to be thought of by anyone else. These luggage tags are really stylish and your newlyweds will LOVE them for their honeymoon. The plus-side of getting tags with their full names on rather than just the traditional ‘Mr’ and ‘Mrs’ which honeymoon luggage tags normally have, is that they can continue to use these for holidays after their honeymoon!

Tree of Love // £35

I love this idea. Plant the tree and watch it grow as the couples lives together and their family grows. So cute, I would have loved to receive one of these. Only slight hitch is – we don’t have a garden! So before purchasing this wonderful gift it probably is worth checking a few things. A) the couple have a garden big enough for a tree and B) they are in a home that they so far intend to stay in for a while. If they are currently renting an ‘in between’ house then it would be unfortunate to plant the Tree of Love only to have to dig it up a few months later!

Framed Personalised Song Lyrics Print // £34

If you are close to the bride or groom and know their first dance song in advance then this is a seriously amazing gift for a seriously stylish couple. I adore this print and am actually considering buying this for my own home! Not only is it a gorgeous and poignant reminder of your first dance song lyrics, it’s also printed in beautiful gold AND these lyrics pictured just so happy to be from my own first dance song; ‘Thinking Out Loud’.

I hope these have given you some ideas if you’re a bit stuck as to what to get a hubby and wife to be! Weddings are special so chose something thoughtful, meaningful and that is as special as they are!

Present wise, men can be a challenge. I’m sure many of you will have the same problem as me. Your husband/ boyfriend/ partner already has a watch, a belt, wallet, nice leather man bag. Over the last few years I have resorted to personalised iPad cases, diaries and even a pocket watch. Short of playstation games (which I refuse to buy) and socks I’m out of ideas.

So I thought I’d put together some of my favourite gift ideas for my husband who truly has everything in case any of you guys have a man in your life like this! I think these gifts are all things which my husband would really like and genuinely use as well.

Personalised Bottle Opener £10- notonthehighstreet.com

Brilliant for the beer lovers and socialisers, and also a really cute personalised gift. You can put names, messages or things they like on it for that real personal touch.

Virtual Reality Headset £17.99 – Iwantoneofthose.com

My hubby tried one of these out a few weeks back that belonged to a friend and he raves about it! And I don’t think you need to be a total techy to appreciate these either. Simply link up to your smart phone and get totally emersed in movies/games and the like.

Modern Gents Shaving Kit £20 – The Body Shop

I’m a big fan of The Body Shop’s men’s ranges and I love the smell of the modern gent line. This shaving kit is classy and comes with a traditional brush and wash bag which are both practical and will look suave on your bathroom shelf. Win win.

Personalised Scrabble Print £29.99 from Getting Personal

A bit soppy yes, but if your guy is a bit of an old romantic, or indeed obsessed with Scrabble (as mine is) this is a really cute gift idea. It may not be something they would buy for themselves, sure, but it will definitely make them go ‘awhh’.

bowtie

Bow Tie £20-£40 from Mrs Bow Tie

What man wouldn’t want a groovy bow tie for his collection?! And even if he doesn’t wear it it’s still a lovely, classy thing to own. Mrs Bow Tie are an amazing online supplier who stock every single bow tie you can imagine from plain, rainbow, floral, animal print, union jack and even a Dr Who bow tie collection. My other half bought his wedding bow tie from Mrs Bow Tie and it’s fantastic quality.

Saint Christopher Leather Bracelet £32.99 from Cherish Us (Etsy Shop)

I actually bought this for my own hubby last year and he really loves it. Saint Christopher is the patron saint of travel and essentially his symbol is supposed to bring safe travel and protection to those who possess it. It’s a lovely sentiment and makes a really nice (but still manly) piece of jewellery.

Gin Explorer Club Monthly Subscription £24.99 per month or £279.99 annually

If your man is a gin fan, or indeed if you are a gin fan, then this really is a fantastic idea. And I can almost guarentee he won’t have thought of it himself! Sign up to the Gin Explorer Club and every month you will have a gorgeously presented gift box delivered each month, containing 4 differently bottles of gin (double measures) from around the world, some mixers and information  about where is the world your gins have come from. It’s a really creative gift for the gent in your life.

Hangry Art Print £8.22 from Etsy

A bit of a joke gift – but if your other half is anything like mine then this will ring true with him! Something to put in the kitchen as a bit of a laugh and a talking point!

A meal at Hawksmoor London from £35 for a meal

I know, I know; a bit of a stereotype. MAN LOVE STEAK. But if it’s the case then this place needs to be tried out by you and your cave man. The best steak in London is a bold claim and I’m determined to find out if it’s true very soon! I haven’t been myself yet, but I’ve heard the food is wonderful and well worth the price tag.

Christmas Indulgence Hamper £80 from Interflora

And finally, if you really want to push the boat out with your Christmas spirit then how about this luxurious hamper for the special person in your life. Packed full of biscuits, snacks, mince pies and wine – there’s no way he could finish it on his own, so you’ll get a look in too!

🌟

I hope some people will find this helpful, I know how difficult it can be sometimes trying to come up with a creative and cute idea for a gift for my husband, sometimes you’ve just got to think outside the box!

Happy shopping!

So, I wanted to do a quick, haul-style post today with a roundup of what lovely gifts I received for my 25th birthday. I’m a very lucky girl! I’m not posting these to show off; more to remind myself in the future of what I got as I can never seem to recall!

Phillips Wireless Headphones

Pink Nike gym gloves & USA hair ties

Paul’s main gift to me was an amazing day out in London full of treats, which I will write up in a separate post, but he also got me a pair of Bluetooth headphones for the gym. I’ve been after some for ages so I was so pleased with this gift! Also fitness related I got some lightweight Nike gym gloves which are pink (I like to keep it girly even when I’m working out!) and some workout hair ties.

Rose Gold Pandora Bracelet with pink glass charm.

Something I’ve admired from afar for a long time is the pandora bracelets. I just think they are so classy and stunning, especially the rose gold one! I’ve only got one charm so far, but even the bracelet on its own is beautiful.

Osprey travel day pack

For our adventure honeymoon!

Personalised teachers diary

Such a cute idea – it’s got lesson planning space for each day and a message on the back from Paul.

Body Shop Seaweed products and body brush

Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser & exfoliator

Molton Brown mini shower gel set

Disney DVDs Up & The Hunchback or Notre Dame

2 more to add to my expanding collection! You can see what else I’ve got here.

Incense sticks

Fudge!

My favourite sweets – what can I say!

I’m so grateful for every gift I received and am so lucky to have family and a husband who know me so well! Thank you everybody.

I hate giving boring gifts.

I love giving gifts which are interesting and thoughtful, specific to the person on whom you are bestowing the gift. It’s really important to me that they know why I have chosen it for them and why it’s special to them; it needs to be personal.

Basically, I don’t give gift vouchers.

So imagine my delight when I came across zazzle.com, an American company who make specialise in beautiful gifts, both personalised and otherwise. The thing that sets Zazzle apart from similar websites is that the options for personalised items are huge and almost completely customisable – so for a creative gift giver the opportunities are endless!

We first discovered Zazzle when we used them to make these cute stickers for our wedding favours. We were super impressed by how easy it was to design them and how well they turned out.

And now I’m hooked! I have used them to design our Thank You cards for our wedding, personalised tote bags and necklaces as gifts for friends and personalised Birthday cards for family, as well as this cute fridge magnet (just incase Paul ever forgets our anniversary!).

For a different gift I would recommend Zazzle 100%.

I love making things on a Sunday!

This is a gorgeous sugar scrub which is super easy to make and will leave skin silky smooth. Made of all natural ingredients that I found in my kitchen!

Lemon – Yum. Lavender – Yum. What’s not to love?

You will need:

  • 2 cups of sugar (I used white to get the nice yellow colour, but brown works too)
  • 1/2 a cup of olive oil
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 8 drops of lavender essential oil
  • a jar or something to put it in

scrub

Literally, mix the ingredients together in a big bowl and… that’s about it!

One yummy body scrub that smells divine and would cost you about £8.99 in a shop!
