Morning lovelies! I’ve done quite a few hair-related posts lately which is not like me at all. I genuinely neglect my hair – hardly ever having it cut and I’m generally just a wash and go kinda girl. I rarely use product in it – other than the occasional bit of Argan oil when it’s feeling super dry. However, when I was a #BlogConLDN (we are going all the way back to March now! It’s gone so quickly!) I had a chance to chat to a lovely lady from Natural World Haircare about my barnet. She ‘diagnosed’ my hair as being fine and damaged, I knew it was damaged that’s for sure and I always have issues getting volume and lift into it so I guess it is pretty fine. She recommended that I try the Chia Seed Oil range which would help give my hair volume and a bit of life. I was excited to try it out and see.
I’m a big fan of Chia Seeds in ‘real life’ and I know all about the benefits of eating them, but not much about what they can do for my hair! Apparently the seeds are fantastic for giving hair natural shine and making it fuller and more bouncy. Natural World use only organic Chia Seed Oil, which I love, and their products are paraben, phosphate and gluten free (I didn’t know that was a thing with hair shampoo – but there you go!).
I have been using the Chia Seed range shampoo, conditioner and hair oil for several weeks now and the results are positive. I do feel like after using them my hair does have a bit more ‘bounce’ and it definitely feels less flat at the roots. I have noticed a more shiny appearance as well and I feel like my hair has become stronger. The only thing I’ve been finding tricky is where I usually use products which are geared more towards deep conditioning (as my hair is so dry) rather than volumising – I’ve been finding my hair is much more tangled when I’m done washing it than I’m used to. It takes me a bit longer with the Tangle Teaser than it does with other ranges, but once my hair is brushed and dried the results are fantastic and I’m very impressed.
To find out more about the Chia Seed Oil range or any other Natural World products then you can check them out online here.
***Please note: I was sent this product for reviewing purposes, however the opinions are my own***
Have you tried any of the Natural World products? What do you prefer to use in your hair?
I am in love with French/Dutch braids. Unfortunately, I really can’t do them on myself! I trawl Pinterest and pin to my hearts content but when I try in front of the mirror – it just doesn’t happen. My fingers don’t bend that way!
Because I’ve got long hair which is quite thick I’m lucky in the sense that some of my more-able friends like to practice styles on me! I can’t take credit for any of these, they were all done by an incredibly talented work friend, but these are all me and I wanted to share the styles because some of them are soooo pretty.
Braid across the front, side and into a bun. I like this one because it’s a nice up do and looks kind of ‘little house on the prairie’. It’s one braid starting at the front of the head and crossing over round the side.
Festival plaits. Classic! Great for the gym or festivals, make you look kind of cool.
My favourite! This was a backwards French braid (starting at the bottom of the head) which is done with the model (me) with their head upside down the whole time. It looks amaaaazing from the back.
Side braid. Or Katnis braid! Love it.
Another favourite – a simple everyday look with one fat braid across the front. So pretty!
Can you do any exotic braid styles? Can you teach me??

♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Star Recommendation
One of my hero products of Summer 2016 – Bed Head’s Beach Bound hair protection spray. I have had quite an extended summer holiday this year, what with a week for the wedding and then Portugal for our holiday, so I was very lucky to spend a few weeks in sun, sea and sand.
I’m a low maintenance girl on holiday (no makeup, natural dried hair etc) so it’s not really the norm for me to stock up on ‘holiday products’ but this time I decided to invest in something to protect my hair from all the damage.
I bought the Beach Bound spray because I wanted something that would protect my hair from sun damage and salt water but also something that I could leave in all day and evening and it would give my hair a nice beachy, wavy look. This product delivered on all levels and it lived up to my expectations entirely. It’s also super convenient and portable for travelling due to it’s compact size and smells yummy. I haven’t much experience with leave-in sprays so I can’t really compare it, but for me, it worked amazingly. My hair maintained good condition and I really liked the way it looked when I had the spray in. It really made my holiday a lot easier and saved my killing my hair by dragging a brush through it every night!
