Spring is the perfect time to spring clean and shake up your skincare routine. Lately, I’ve really upped my skincare game. I feel like at the age of 25 it’s the right time to really invest time and energy into keeping my skin healthy. It’s so important to be consistent with a regular skincare routine to keep skin looking clear and glowing. Recently, I’ve discovered some gorgeous new products which I absolutely love and have done wonders for me, and I’ve also got some old favourites that I can’t live without! I’m going to share a few of my favourite skincare saviours with you.

Skintifique Cleanser P Hypoallergenic Micellar Water

This is a new addition to my skincare routine which I was recently sent to review. You can read my full review here, but I’ll just summarise what I love so much about it that has meant the Cleanser P is now part of my daily morning skincare routine. Firstly, in the mornings I am usually extremely pushed for time, and the nature of this micellar water means I can literally apply some to a cotton pad and cleanse my face in less than a minute, with no washing, faffing or otherwise! It does a great job; gently removing any traces of makeup from the day before and it really wakes me up and makes my skin feel fresh in the morning. Also, my skin is pretty sensitive so I love how gentle this cleanser is gently and completely hypoallergenic and nasty-free, which is something that is really important to me. If you are looking for something that will give great results with minimal fuss this is a great addition to your routine.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

The original game changer and forever my favourite. I have been a loyal fan of Liz’s range for years and this cleanser is an enduring winner for me. I use the hot cloth cleanser every night when I’ve got more time and I really want to feel like I can wash the day away by deep cleansing my face. The product lathers up into a thick foam which I love because it makes my skin feel so clean and fresh afterwards, and then removing it with a warm muslin cloth (as recommended) helps to sooth and deep cleanse all my pours. A truly luxurious product.

Exuviance Bionic Oxygen Facial Mask

Now, this baby is something I picked up from the wonderful Exuviance skincare stall at BlogConLDN and I must say I am totally hooked and so glad I discovered it! I have had oxygen facials before, in salons (usually at great expense) and have found the results to be excellent. The benefits of bringing oxygen to your skincare are many, brightening dull skin, renewing, rejuvenating and so on. The Bionic Oxygen Facial mask contains pure essential oxygen plus Exuviance’s Bionic Complex for energising and bringing new life to the skin. I have found the results to be outstanding and this is now a staple item in my skincare collection. It’s on the high-end side in regards to price, but in my opinion totally worth it! I use the product roughly once a week and notice how bright, clear and glowing my skin feels afterwards. Five stars Exuviance – very impressed.

Liz Earle Intensive Nourishing Treatment

This mask is my next choice and is an old favourite of mine. I like it so much because it’s gentle enough to use regularly (several times a week) and is suitable for even the most sensitive skin. It’s naturally active ingredients promote brightening and the plant oils nourish skin to make it feel softer and smoother. I have used this mask regularly for years and I still find it a great mid-range choice which gives great results.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Hydra Gel Eye Masks

I must admit despite Elemis’ popularity I have never really tried many of their products at home but I recently received a sample of these collagen eye masks and I thought I had to include them in this little line up. Even at 25 (which is not old by my standards!) I am self conscious about fine lines and tired looking eyes. This mask comes in the form of little eye patches and are clinically proven to instantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As I wouldn’t say that I don’t have any really noticeable wrinkles I can’t say for sure whether they do ‘instantly reduce’ them but I did see an immediate brightening and refreshing of my eye area and I was really impressed with the product. I will definitely be re-purchasing.

Clarins Multi Active Day Cream

Last but not least, this little wonder which has actually caused me to change my lifelong faithful moisturiser! Don’t get me wrong, I still love my Liz Earle moisturiser but for now I have switched to the Clarins day cream, simply for how incredible it makes my skin feel! It smells amazing, is suitable for all skin types and after using it my skin feels smooth, tightened, brightening and just generally gorgeous! I can’t recommend it highly enough.

*****

I hope you enjoyed my skincare saviours round up! I love writing about skincare and trying new products. I know good quality skincare can be a pricey investment, but I feel these products are a mixture of mid-range and high-end, but are all high quality products which are really worth it for the excellent results they give.

Hey there lovelies!

I’ve got something very exciting to show you today. If you have read my blog before you may know that I’m really obsessed with skincare products. It’s kind of my ‘thing’. I know most bloggers obsess over makeup and the newest cosmetics ranges but I could leave makeup any day for luxurious skincare products which give great results! You can’t beat a clear, fresh face in my opinion!

So, today I wanted to tell you about a new product which I was sent by Skintifique; the Cleanser P.

I hadn’t heard of Skintifique before, so naturally I was curious about their brand and products. They are an international brand, and from browsing their website and social media I have to say I was really impressed. They really know their skincare, and by that I mean that all of their products are driven by science and results. Something else that struck me was that all of their products are 100%  pure and non-allergenic, they are even suitable for people who suffer from extremely sensitive skin or problems like eczema or psoriasis. As an eczema sufferer myself, this was something I was really impressed by as I often find high street cleansers can flair up the patches where I get it on my face.

The packaging intrigued me too. It’s definitely not a pink, fluffy packaged product. The brand is simple, clean, with a slightly clinical feel which matches their ‘science driven’ brand ethos.

I could go on about the ingredients and the fact that it’s paraben free, fragrance free, no nasties and generally pure as anything; but what you really want to know is how it feels to use it and if it works.

Well, yes it does. It’s a micellar water, which means it’s a cleanser which removes makeup, impurities and traces of pollution from your skin. The Cleanser P is excellent at removing my makeup, even stubborn eye makeup, and doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. It also feels lovely on my face, not oily at all which I have found with other micellar waters, and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. In the short term, I’d say it’s a fantastic cleanser for any skin type, but particularly for sensitive or reactive skin. It’s also a quick, easy way to cleanse morning and night with no fuss, which is what I like.

In the long term, I can honestly say that my skin has been clearer. Even more than that, I have noticed a difference in how my skin feels in regards to sensitivity. As I said, I have sensitive skin particularly on my cheeks, and I often find that after cleansing with a regular cleanser my skin feels ‘tight’ or a bit tingly. The Cleanser P has removed this feeling completely and my skin feels less dry and irritated.

The cleanser is priced just under £14 which, although more than a drug-store branded cleanser, I don’t feel is over the top for a results driven skincare brand like this, and I feel it’s competitive within their sector. If you would like more details about the cleanser, or to order a Cleanser P for yourself click here.

***I was sent this product for reviewing purposes, but the opinions are my own as always***

I don’t know about you but with all the Valentine’s posts going around at the moment I have been feeling quite girly all of a sudden. With Spring around the corner, which means that we can all start feeling a bit cheerful and colourful again, I have put together some of my favourite girly beauty products, which just so happen to follow a pink theme.

Some are old favourites, some are newer, all of them are very lovely.

This delicate pink blush is from the Bare Minerals compact range and is in the shade ‘The One’. I love this colour because it looks amazing on everyone and can be worn as a very natural every day look, as well as being vamped up for a more striking look for evening time. The colour gives a really nice dewy finish with a slight highlight in it.

Next I’ve got my go-to mascara at the moment which is the Maybelline Sensational Volume Effect Mascara. This mascara is amazing as it’s huge brush gives you massive volume and really gives that false lash effect. The brush is also slightly curved to make it easier to catch every lash! I love Maybelline’s mascaras and this is my current favourite.

The iconic “perfect nude/pink” shade that made MAC famous, Angel has been a favourite of mine since I bought it for my bridal look last year. It’s honestly the most wearable everyday lipstick I’ve ever had, being the perfect mix of natural and pretty but at the same time having enough colour pigment to make your lips stand out. For an everyday, girly look Angel is perfect.

This Ted Baker body soufflé is as gorgeous as the packaging looks from the outside. When you open it up you are hit with this delicious pink cream which is the girliest, most floral, sweet smelling thing I’ve ever come across. It’s like they mixed fairies and unicorns to make it! I don’t wear it every day but for a special occasion it’s the kind of smell that I really like. The packaging is super cute too.

Once you’ve tried a Liz Earle fragrance it’s difficult to go back to anything else every again! And that is definitely the case with me. It’s fair to say I’ve been going on about this fragrance A LOT recently, featuring it on my bridal makeup and hair blog as well as my January favourites video, but what can I say?! It’s the best. No. 20 is my favourite because it’s everything I look for in a fragrance: made from natural ingredients, fresh and light, floral and girly and it reminds me of summertime, however all of Liz’s fragrances are stunning and there is definitely a smell to suit everyone.

I have been a big fan of the Molton Brown body & bath ranges, particularly the body washes, for a while now but I have recently switched from my all time favourite (Gingerlily) to try out the Pink Pepperpod range! It’s still got the exotic ginger smell but it’s much more fiery and the fragrance really fills up your whole bathroom in the morning – I love it! They do the entire range in this scent from body washes and creams to fragrance diffusers.

What are your favourite ‘girly’ products?

DIY wedding makeup. *Screams of horror*. I know, I know, my friends were horrified too. But I’ll let you into a secret..

Unless you want perfectly blended smokey eyes with Kardashian style contouring which needs a professional – you can do it!

And it will be fine!

I wanted a natural, glowy and summery makeup look for my wedding. I have little makeup experience and hardly wear any on a day to day basis. With a few makeup lessons with Bare Minerals and Laura Mercier, a few YouTube tutorials and some good quality makeup products; I did this:

I am so happy with how it turned out. The best decision that I made was to invest a lot of effort (which means money) in preparing for my wedding day. I had mechanical facials every four weeks for 6 months prior to the big day. Manual facials are lovely but I feel having a mechanical or ‘electrical’ facial gives the skin an extra kick and can really help give you that ‘glow from within’. I alternated the microdermabrasion facials (removal of the dead skin cells for deep exfoliation) with the oxygen facials oxygen is pushed into the skin for a pumped up and refreshed look) and I found this to be a winning combination. The only important thing to remember is to have your last microderm no less than 4 weeks before the wedding as it can leave the skin slightly irritated and pink.

Teeth wise I didn’t bother with the expensive teeth whitening that many brides do. I used Oral B Luxe White (Glamorous) toothpaste and mouthwash for 4 weeks proceeding the wedding and it did the job! I didn’t have too much discoloration to begin with so didn’t need anything heavy duty but it certainly worked and I was surprised how white my teeth looked in the pictures!

I also invested in having an LVL Lash Lift. This was honestly the best thing I did regarding my bridal beauty and I would recommend it to any bride who doesn’t want the faff of falsies. I have long lashes but they are dead straight and the lash lift curls the lashes from the root and basically makes them curly, giving your eyes a much more open and doll eyed-look.  I’m really pleased with how they look in the pictures.  I’m not going to lie – the process is not a picnic. It takes about 40 minutes with your eyes shut and various liquids being put on your lashes but it’s well worth it.

Finally, I splashed out and got my brows threaded at Blink Brow Bar, London. They are on the pricey side as far as threading goes but they do an amaaaazing shape and, once done, my perfect brows lasted 3 weeks and didn’t need any filling in or makeup on the day.

The key to perfecting a DIY look is practice and planning. I went for makeup lessons at several counters; MAC (for eyes), Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Bare Minerals and Lancome. I was never 100% happy with any of the completed looks (which reinforced the fact I was right to do my own – I’m fussy!!) but I liked elements and took bits from all of them to come up with completed look. I didn’t scrimp on the products and bought a few a month until I had everything I wanted and then I practiced, practiced, practiced at home.

The makeup I used to achieve this look:

FACE

  • Bare Minerals Prime Time primer; Original.
  • Bare Minerals mineral foundation; Fairly Medium.
  • Benefit bronzer; Hoola.
  • Bare Minerals Bareskin concealer; Medium.
  • Bare Minerals Mineral Veil setting powder.
  • Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage face concealer.
  • Bare Minerals compact blusher; The One.
  • Bare Minerals compact highlight; READY Luminizor Duo.

EYES

  • Laura Mercier Eye Basic; Flax.
  • MAC Eye Shadow; Dazzlelight.
  • MAC Eye Shadow; A Natural Flirt.
  • MAC Eye Shadow; Corduroy.
  • Lancôme Hypnose Mascara  (waterproof!)

I used the 3 MAC eye-shadows with a MAC blending brush and blended them all out to create a dewy, soft pink look with a subtle shimmer.  I had been toying with wearing a chocolate brown eyeliner but with the lifted lashes I felt I didn’t really need it.

LIPS

  • MAC Lipstick; Angel.

I would encourage any bride thinking about DIY to go for it. You really don’t necessarily need a makeup artist, with the right products, practice and the ability to remain calm on the day (!!!) you can certainly do it yourself 🙂

Any other DIY brides out there?

Okay, I admit it. I have expensive taste in body wash! I love, love, loveeeee Molton Brown (all their products) and have a particular soft spot for their shower gels. The flavours are so yummy, they all smell amazing, lather up so much and are such gorgeous colours. Generally all round amazing products.

They arn’t cheap as far as body wash goes and since I’m a student I wouldn’t usually splash out on such a thing. However, my lovely mum has got this cute little thing where she always buys me a set of their minis for my birthday or Christmas because she knows how much I love them! I like to have lots of different ones so I can chop and change and the mini sets usually have about 12 small bottles of gel which lasts me a fair amount of time! Basically, I’m sorted for shower gels!

I recieved this set for my birthday and I wanted to tell you about my favourites.

How cute do they look lined up in colour order by the way?? Amazing decoration for my bathroom if nothing else!

Pink Pepperpod

Obviously I have a soft spot for this one because it is bright pink and I think it looks sassy as! It’s also a really lovely fruity smell and it gives off a really tropical aroma. The blend of fiery pink pepper and ginger make it kind of spicy which is really refreshing in a body wash. Great for waking you up in the morning.

Coco & Sandalwood

Coconut anything is my absolute favourite. I love it. The smell remind me of holiday so much it transports me in my head to a beach with a cocktail in hand. Plus, coconut has so many amazing properties to keep skin soft and moisturised. Soothing on the skin and nice for a relaxing bath.

Gingerlily

My all time favourite Molton Brown product is the Gingerlily. I adore the smell so much I have also purchased the body cream. It just smells divine – of lilies obviously so it’s quite a flowery smell but I don’t find it over powering. It’s an exotic flowery product with a hint of spicy ginger.

Do you like Molton Brown or any other luxury bath products? What’s your favourite?
